Q: Does MFLCF have a political agenda?

A: No, it is not about why we are fighting in any country or the political and military reasons that determine when our military is deployed.  It is about our men and women in the military, their willingness to sacrifice time with their families, time with all their friends and neighbors, and even sacrifice their lives to insure that we as Americans can live each day enjoying the freedoms that we enjoy.  Freedoms that have required patriots to step forward and sacrifice in order to gain and protect these freedoms since our founding fathers so boldly crafted and with great personal sacrifice to themselves and their families wrote and signed  “Declaration of Independence” and then our “Constitution”.  It is about the true gratitude of a nation that needs to understand what our patriots do for us each and every day so we can live where we want to live, worship the way we want or not worship if that’s our choice, say what we believe, work where we want to work, and dream dreams that can come true.  This is why we so proudly support the men, women of the US Military and their families”.

Q: If I donate to your organization, where does the money go and how is that determined?

A: MFLCF was created to support and assist other charitable organizations.  We raise funds through a variety of annual golf tournaments and other events throughout the US and ask for support from Corporate America and individuals.  There are a variety of ways to help and support including direct donations, golf tournament sponsorships, sponsorship of other activities, as well as Annual Sustaining Membership donations.

A special committee of the Board of Directors work closely together with various charities throughout the year and they receive donations in the amounts and the timing as considered prudent and effective by the special committee.

Q: How much of the money that you raise actually goes to the other charities?

A: MFLCF continuously strives to achieve the smallest amount of cost associated with raising donations and putting on events that create donations.  Our target goal is to be as close to 10% as possible for “cost of raising money”.  Through the generous support of the golf courses and suppliers and vendors, we believe that this goal is attainable and can be maintained. At the conclusion of each year we are required to file a form 990 with the IRS which will be made available on our website and mailed by request and will show our actual results.

Q: Do you need volunteers and if so, how can I volunteer to assist MFLCF?

A: We have many needs where volunteers can be of great help.  For example, during each golf tournament we have a need a total of  6 to 10 volunteers who will help us in the check-in process, special skills events, and during the banquet.  We always welcome the support of volunteers who will help us in securing sponsors and players for each event.  Also we always appreciate those who volunteer their time to help us raise awareness of the needs and secure annual sustaining members.  If you wish to volunteer for any of the above or have other talents that you wish to volunteer please call our corporate offices or contact us by email.

Q: Can I donate for a specific purpose such as college grants or assistance to the wounded and their families?

A: Depending on each unique circumstance we will do everything in our power to insure that your donation goes where you want.  We will have certain limitations that legally or organizationally may preclude us from accommodating your request but we will let you know in advance.

Q: If I know of a veteran or his family who need help can I refer them directly to you?

A: We hope to have sufficient links on our website to assist anyone looking to find needed assistance to any of our veterans and their families.  If you do not find the appropriate link, please email the information to us and we will help direct them to the appropriate organization.

Q: Do you have minimum size requirements for donation?

A: No, but we do have certain minimum on various levels of “Annual Sustaining Memberships but we greatly appreciate any amount that you wish to donate.
